Good morning! Here's how the final exam is going to work:
1. Finish and e-mail in your review sheet (1/4 of your grade) to ameliareiffhill@gmail.com
2. Go to carbonmade.com and sign up for a free portfolio account.
3. Fill your portfolio with at least 12 images of work from this class under the Projects tab. Make sure to "save for web" as jpeg or gif files so they upload properly. You can organize them in up to 5 groups. (1/2 of your grade)
4. Customize your porfolio's design under the personalize tab.
5. Click on the About tab and completely fill it out, including skills you've learned in this class.
6. Under the "About You" section, Write a 1-page (3+ paragraph) essay about your work in Graphic Design, what graphic design is, and what you've learned this semester. Include at least 3 concepts from the review sheet (1/4 of your grade)
7. Once you finish, click on "view your portfolio" at the top and copy and paste the URL (address at the top bar) into a comment on this blog entry.
Then you're done! You can independently research the graphic design of the internet/movies/video games with any time remaining. Graphic design is everywhere!
I'll see you at graduation!

Review for finals!
Download Final Review
Download it, fill it out, and e-mail it to me!
(ameliareiffhill@gmail.com)
This will count as part of your final exam grade; the easy part.
It is open-notes, open-skecthbook, and open-internet.
However, it is an individual assignment and everything must be IN YOUR OWN WORDS to get credit. That means copy+paste doesn't work. Reword it in your own way.
Some resources to read up on topics you may have forgotten are:
bitmap versus vector images
illustrator info
website info
css info
graphic design
principles of design

- comment on this blog entry so Ms. Hill can grade you on it
- email your poster as a JPEG attachment to Ms. Hill (ameliareiffhill@gmail.com) OPTIONAL; only do this if you want it to be entered in the scholarship competition. You must include your full name, address, and phone number.

Poster Competition
Today we are collecting all necessary source images for our posters!
Review the FULL CONTEST INFORMATION, then begin collecting your images. Remember all source images must be free of copyright (i.e. in the public domain), OR you must own the copyright (i.e. you drew the picture/took the photograph).

If you need more, the wikipedia list of photos in the public domain is a great place to start.
Or, simply google "copyright-free images"
Finally, Flickr has a huge resource of user-uploaded photos that the photographers have released under creative commons licensing (which means you can use it as long as you credit the photographer, usually). Check those out here.
